This month I upgraded the inside of SWD’s trailer. I painted the walls and installed a raptor liner (bed liner like item) Kit. The purpose is to brighten the inside and protect the wood floor and walls.

I started the process by looking at Youtube, then choose my products, I contacted the manufacture to get some more details. Trying to figure out the amount needed and cost. You know doing homework! Well boys and girls here is where it went from a straight forward project to a very expensive education. First problem, the coverage for the product listed on the box and instructions, was not close to the square footage I actually achieved. Needless to say after finishing the ramp (35 sqft) I had to order more product ($$$). While waiting I put a 6 inch border on the bottom using the raptor product, trimming the trailer beautifully. Thus I was applying different tech/ applications trying to determine how to do it better. I found out the second detail that would have been nice to know is to prime the floor . Wow what a difference. So whether you are painting metal or wood always prime it, regardless of what manufacture says. Other lessons learned is to account for the paint that stays in the container(s) this will mess your afternoon up, get a bit more than you calculated. Always pay attention to roller type. don’t be scared to try a new product. Overall very pleased with the raptor products, and learn a lot while using them. So in short everyday at SWD in full of learning opportunities.
